Installation and Specifications

You can install it yourself easily just like any tankless water heater. Since the unit is extremely compact therefore, you need not to worry about the space. It is ideal for small homes, condos, kitchens and offices. The user manual included in the package informs comprehensively about the process of installation. However, you may require additional wiring and piping especially if the wires that you currently have are plastic ones. Always use copper pipes for connecting water supply with this unit. You may require 80ft wiring for the unit’s two separate circuits. Remember to keep the two hot leads of every circuit away from each other and every double-pole circuit’s hot leads have to be paired up. For plumbing purposes use flexible water heater connectors of braided material and then connect them to CPVC. You will need at least 150amp electrical panel with two 40amp double pole-breakers linked to two sets of 8-gauge wire.

Common Problems

If you haven’t sized it properly then water supply will be limited and also in extremely cold regions the performance of the unit may get affected. Therefore before purchasing you need to select the right size by evaluating the size of family, expected hot water demand and electrical requirements. Technology-wise this heater is ideal choice but the installation cost may exceed your budget because the 2x40amp double pole breakers, 150amp electrical panel and a pair of 8awg wiring doesn’t come cheap.

Conclusion

In terms of its technology, it is a great choice for a water heater but installation can be quite costly as it requires a minimum 150 amp electrical panel with 2 x 40 amp double pole breakers connected to 2 set of 8 awg wire and that doesn’t come cheap as it also depends on how far you want your wiring to go. 3/4” NPT plumbing connections are also needed.
